Upon your arrival at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, you will be greeted by our representative and immediately begin the scenic journey to Munnar. As you leave the coastal humidity behind, the four-hour drive winds upward through the Western Ghats, offering breathtaking views of mist-covered hills. Along the way, you will make brief stops at the Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls to stretch your legs and enjoy the cascading fresh water. After checking into your hotel in Munnar, the remainder of the evening is yours to relax or take a short stroll to the nearby tea plantations to witness your first sunset in the hills.
After a hearty breakfast at the resort, the day is dedicated to exploring the verdant beauty of Munnar. The tour begins with a visit to Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, where you can take a guided walk through the rolling grasslands. Following this, you will visit the Tata Tea Museum to understand the history of tea processing in the region. The afternoon is reserved for a visit to the Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point, where the calm waters reflect the surrounding hills, making it a perfect spot for photography and a light speed-boat ride. You will return to your hotel in the evening for an overnight stay.
Following an early breakfast, you will check out and drive down from the hills to the coastal town of Alleppey, also known as the “Venice of the East.” By noon, you will board a traditional Kettuvallam (houseboat) for an overnight cruise through the famous Kerala backwaters. As the boat drifts through the narrow canals, you will witness the daily life of local villagers, lush paddy fields, and coconut groves. A traditional Kerala lunch, evening tea with snacks, and dinner will be prepared and served on board by your private chef. The night is spent docked on the tranquil waters under the stars.
After breakfast on the houseboat, you will disembark at the Alleppey jetty at 9:00 AM and proceed back to Cochin. Before your departure, you will enjoy a brief heritage tour of Fort Kochi. This includes viewing the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, walking through the historic Jew Town to see the Paradesi Synagogue, and visiting St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. You will then be dropped off at the airport or railway station by late afternoon, carrying memories of a rejuvenating holiday.
As a responsible tour organizer, we will be very happy if we can make your tour memorable.
